The DUO Being deeply influenced by the more traditional roots music, but also by psychedelic, contemporary music, jazz and more experimental environments, the duo of REIS and ESPVALL in absolute debut at the Art Loft Lisbon is based on the premise of free improvisation, but with the anticipation of lyrical folk environments.
HELENA ESPVALL cello
“Helena Espvall is a Swedish cellist / guitar player who's spent the last several years in the USA, who's recently living in Lisbon. Emerging as one of the voices of the excellent Espers, a crucial part of the mid-decade boom in Independent American Music that has been devoted to an update of Anglo-Saxon folk forms, she's been quietly building a discographic and on-stage path, in areas more closely linked to highly melodic improvisation.
Espvall has a very special ear for spontaneous harmonic constructions. ...
In her most recent solo recordings we find her drawing beautiful hypnotic weavings, in which she always finds fascinating melodic openings, in an incessant search for the phrase's possibilities in a post-classical and telluric context."
Helena has performed several times at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, twice at the High Zero Festival of improvised music in Baltimore, at the Improvised and Otherwise Festival in Brooklyn, at the Big Sur experimental festival in California and at Terrastock 2006 in Providence, RI among many others.

MARCELO DOS REIS guitar
He is a prominent voice in the new generation of European improvisational musicians.
... All of his work has been widely acclaimed, and among all recognition, was named one of the top five guitarists for three consecutive years in the publication El Intruso, at the Annual International Critics Poll, which brings together journalists from around the world.
In 2017 he was considered musician of the year in jazz.pt magazine.
His idiosyncratic approach to guitar sets him as one of the key figures in the new Portuguese music, out of thirteen albums, all of which are acclaimed by national and international expert critics. Works solo and in groups such as Contained Stone, Open Field, In Layers, Frame Trio, duo with Luis Vicente and Eve Risser, Chamber 4, Staub Quartet and Fail Better !, these last three, considered Revelation Projects by the international press.
He is currently coordinator and professor at the Academia de Música do Centro - Norton de Matos and works on a regular basis with theater music at the company "Marionet".
He was Vice President of Jazz ao Centro Clube.
He is a founding member of the "Double Bill" music cycle, and one of the creators of the "Cipsela Records" record label.

How it started... our hidden museum
An old stable converted into a house/studio by an artist couple as a jewel/ sculpture.
The artistic adventure started in 1996 creating the architectural solutions.
In almost 3 years enthusiastically the contemporary art collection climbed its walls, took its ceilings, spread all over the floor filling up these 230m² x 5 high and 15 x 2m sculpture garden.
Discover a private loft house/gallery, full of stories and history from the past 20 years. The full address will be provided after your BOOK IN.
Just like you, we prefer intimate moments: "ART & CONCERT/ Dinner" events are limited to just 40 people (subject to availability).
Our idea is really to keep the intimacy, so ONLY 40 people from the very beginning.
We'll EAT, DRINK, MEET THE ARTISTS in a comfortable inspiring environment and above all... LISTEN TO THE BEST MUSIC.
If you're vegan, don't worry. If you have any other food restriction, just let us know.

NO, but we don't serve alcohol to minors.
- What's included in the price?
The Concert, the portuguese bevarages: craft beer, red/ white wine, ginginha and the DINNER are INCLUDED in the event's price. We are here to share good moments with best of music while admiring beautiful painting and sculpture works. Please drink in moderation.
-What are my transportation/parking options to get to and from the event?
Easier is TAXI or UBER, Underground METRO RATO. Parking should be in the street behind, or nearby but it's NOT easy to find.
-What can I bring to the event?
Open mind, JOY and Happiness.

You will receive the email address and the phone number of the organizer after buying your ticket.

Full refund until the day before 12am.
