"The young spanish pianist Marc Laliga, presents us a recital with works by Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninov and Isaac Albéniz.
We will have the opportunity to dive in the marvellous and delicate eight hundred’s romantic world of the music of Chopin. A composer who experiencied exile, having only lived in his beloved homeland Poland, in his youth. Some decades later, also Rachmaninov, Russian composer, was forced to leave his country, by the rise of the Soviet Union , and the October revolution; he like Chopin, left us a musical legacy that to this today, is full of an authentic romantic inspiration. In the end, these two genius pianists, how lived on two different epochs, end up creating a bound in the sense that their works, open us the door to their homelands, with music full of noble emotion. We will hear some of the most emblematic works written for Piano from these two composers.
Passing through a contrasting world of sounds, Marc Laliga brings us, to conclude, a piece from his countrymen composer, I.Albeniz, one of the late representatives of the Nationalist Schools of the 20th century, that impress on their creations atmospheres from their own country’s using popular musical themes, in this case, of our neighbour Spain."

BIOGRAPHY
Born in Mallorca in 1998, he began his studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands with Professor Joan Roig, where he was unanimously awarded 3 extraordinary prizes for piano performance, chamber music and fundamentals of composition.
Later he moved to Barcelona to continue his piano studies with Denis Lossev at the Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña (ESMUC), where he graduated as a pianist performer of classical music with the highest qualifications. He has recently completed his studies of the Official Master of Lied Victoria de los Ángeles at ESMUC with professors Francisco Poyato, Josep Surinyac and Assumpta Mateu.
He is influenced by musicians such as Pavel Gililov, Kennedy Moretti, Mariana Gurkova, Luis Rodriguez Salvá; three members of the Casals quartet: Abel Tomàs, Arnau Tomàs and Jonathan Brown; and in the field of Lied: Wolfram Rieger, Simon Lepper, Sarah Conolly and Felicity Lott.
Winner of the chamber music competition of the composer Antoni Besses and complementary prize for the best performers of a work by the same composer (2022).
Finalist in the Art Jove competition of the Balearic Islands with special mention (2022). Scholarship to take part in the "New Artist" programme in the 2022-2023 season with the Victoria de los Ángeles Lied Foundation.
He has made his debut as a pianist in some emblematic concert halls such as the Alicia de Larrocha Hall of the Auditori de Barcelona, the modernist complex of San Pau, the auditorium of the Paraninfo of the University of Barcelona, the auditorium of the Atlántida de Vic, and the Teatro Principal of Palma de Mallorca.
He is also the winner of this year edition of the Certamen de Música para Jóvenes Intérpretes of the Balearic Islands.
This is a ONE-OF-A-KIND experience ...
How it started... An old stable converted into a house/studio by an artist couple as a living in jewel/ sculpture. The artistic adventure started in 1996 creating the architectural solutions. In almost 3 years the contemporary art collection climbed its walls, took its ceilings, spread all over the floor filling up these 230m² x 5 high and 15 x 2m sculpture garden.
